Join us on a grand adventure! This tour features Cusco City, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. It is a authentic, immersive experience that will take you on one of the most incredible trips of a lifetime as we follow the ancient route of The Incas.
We begin with a stay in a a fine hotel in the city center and an exploration of the city of Cusco, the historical capital of Peru, and experience Cusco like a local.
Then we will discover the unknown side of the Sacred Valley as we travel to our sunrise visit to Machu Picchu, visiting native and indigenous communities and enjoying their tradition and customs.
As you walk, our guides will teach you about the history and culture of our country.
Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, you will be received by our representative, who will take you to your hotel located in the center of Cusco to check-in. We recommend arriving early in the morning to Cusco so you can have a short rest before our afternoon tour.
At 1.30 pm, your tour begins.
The guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to explore the fantastic city of Cusco. The capital of the great Inca Empire, Cusco is surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Andes.
You will start your tour by visiting the Plaza de Armas, followed by a visit to the Cathedral, where you can admire its exquisite lobbies and priceless paintings from the Cusco School, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. After a short walk just a few blocks away, you will visit the famous 12-angle stone and the Koricancha Sun Temple. After this visit in the city our guide will take you in our private transport to the heights of Cusco to explore Sacsayhuaman and the surrounding ruins where you will be enchanted by the Incan architecture of these sites.
Your day begins as we pick you up from your hotel at 8am in our private transport and begin the tour to the Sacred Valley. During the trip, we will marvel at beautiful valleys, glacier-topped mountains, and the fields of local farmers. At our first stop in the village of Chinchero, we will visit a textile center where we will observe textile production by local weavers using the same techniques employed by the Inca to spin, dye, and weave the alpaca fiber. Following this, we will visit the archaeological park and colonial temple of Chinchero. After, we will make a stop to visit with our very friendly alpacas and llamas. You will have the time to pet them, feed them, and take photos.
We continue with our trip, stopping at Maras Moray, a beautiful and curious Inca archaeological complex composed of concentric terraces that in Inca times served as an agricultural acclimatization center, recreating up to 20 micro climates. We then visit the Salt Mines that were used from the pre-Inca time to evaporate the salt from an underground river. This salt mine supplies all the inhabitants of the Sacred Valley area. After visiting all these beautiful places, we continue the journey through the Sacred Valley until we arrive at Urubamba, where we have a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will go to Ollantaytambo, where the second largest Inca monoliths are found. The ruins include incredible temples of the Sun, the Moon and The Temple of the 10 Niches. This living Inca city features narrow walkways, lined with water channels and is not to be missed. After this visit we head to the train station for the ride to Aguas Calientes. This takes approximately two hours, descending to the Cloud Forest where you will see orchids, bromeliads, and ferns. Our representatives will meet you just outside of the train station and will take you to your hotel.
On our final day of excursions, we must wake up very early to prepare for the best of the trip: Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. We will go directly to the line to wait for the first bus to get to Machupicchu at 5:30 a.m., allowing us to arrive as the sky lights up and to take in the stunning views along the way.
Your guide will take you on a full 2-3 hour tour of the city before allowing you to explore on your own or climb Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu mountain.
NOTE: Entry to the mountains is limited and these entries must be reserved as far in advance as possible. Contact us for further information. Your guide will explain how to take the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes for lunch and take the train and bus back to Cusco.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport according to your departure.
We did the 1 day Inka trail which was a moderate to strenuous at times 8 miles of beauty. Thanks to Lucio the trip was informative, fun and safe. The cool Urbano and the porters somehow created a delicious lunch on the trail and coming over the sun gate entrance in the afternoon was truly a wonder of the world!
In July we joined Ronaldo and the rest of the group at Alpaca Trek Adventures for a walk through the Andes with Alpacas and Llamas. Ronaldo went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. I would strongly recommend looking him up if you’re planning a trip to Peru.
It was a wonderful experience that I can recommend to everyone. It was excellently organized by Reynaldo and Margot. We had a wonderful guide, Sandro, and a driver. I highly recommend this unique and beautiful experience.
I spent this delightful day with Reyando and his wife Margot on a walk through a beautiful eucalyptus forest, along with their llamas and alpacas. There was a magical quality about walking in the quiet with these delightful animals.
