Enjoy breathtaking vistas of the mountains, dense subtropical flora, unique biological diversity, and cloud and tropical rainforests as you hike the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The Ancient Inca Road passes through the Machu Picchu National Park and offers you breathtaking views of the site as you pass through the Sun Gate! The renowned Machu Picchu Citadel is seen in the afternoon on the first day of the short Inca Trail Trek and may be visited the following morning! The journey was created for anyone who wanted to walk to Machu Picchu, the New Wonder of the World, and experience a portion of the Historic Inca Trail but had limited time to travel! This quick walk includes a night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Begin your once-in-a-lifetime journey by rising early! At 4am, the guide will come to your Cusco hotel to pick you up. Our luxurious, private journey to Ollantaytambo allows you to relax or perhaps go to sleep. When you arrive at the train station, the guide will place a lunchbox inside your daypack. After the train leaves Ollantaytambo at 6:10, you will have a little more than an hour to take in the views and eat breakfast (not included).
At the well-known Km104, where the journey starts, get off the train! (6,560 feet/2,000 meters) above sea level. Once you’ve crossed the Urubamba River on a charming footbridge, present your passport at the security checkpoint and go to the first Inca site in the vicinity. There is a gradual ascent for the first 1.5 hours. Make stops at several viewpoints along the route to enjoy vast views of the Urubamba River. Travel through a variety of microclimates, such as cloud forests, so be prepared at any time of year for dampness or even rain. The trek gets progressively steeper for the next hour and a half, but at the finish, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning waterfall!.
Make sure to snap some pictures when you cross the bridge beneath the waterfall and find yourself looking up at the magnificent Wiñay Wayna! 2,600 meters or 8,500 feet above sea level Some of these incredible Inca ruins are still obscured by the thick vegetation, and they have an intriguing past. You are hiking through gorgeous sub-tropical vegetation this close to Machu Picchu. The tour will discuss the amazing local flora and animals in addition to the ruins.
Enjoy your leisurely, sumptuous meal while taking in the tropical floral displays around the campsite. Make sure to let us know when you book if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies!.
After lunch, you have a largely easy trek to the Sun Gate. The hour-long hike ends with a steep flight of steps called the Gringo Killers that the Inca dug right into the bedrock. Encountering Machu Picchu for the first time will be an amazing sight as you round the corner from the Sun Gate. Take some time to capture the moment and enjoy it. The final hour of descent from the Sun Gate offers photo ops of Machu Picchu. Ask your guide about these historical locations on your approach to Machu Picchu. Between the Sun Gate and Machu Picchu, there are a few more significant Inca monuments.

Your two-hour tour of Machu Picchu will be provided by the guide. View several of the Machu Picchu Citadel’s most significant features.
Once you’ve had enough of Machu Picchu’s breathtaking vistas, ride the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). You could also have time for some shopping, sightseeing, or a trip to the museum or hot springs, depending on when the train departs.
At 2:55 or 3:20 p.m., the Expedition train will transport you to Ollantaytambo, along the magnificent Urubamba River. The river offers several lovely portions of whitewater, and the canyon is narrow around Aguas Calientes. Admire Wiñay Wayna while riding the train and gazing up at the sheer canyon wall! When you return to Ollantaytambo, the driver will meet you at the train station exit so you may take our private vehicle back to your Cusco hotel. Reach your hotel by 7:00 p.m.

We did the 1 day Inka trail which was a moderate to strenuous at times 8 miles of beauty. Thanks to Lucio the trip was informative, fun and safe. The cool Urbano and the porters somehow created a delicious lunch on the trail and coming over the sun gate entrance in the afternoon was truly a wonder of the world!
In July we joined Ronaldo and the rest of the group at Alpaca Trek Adventures for a walk through the Andes with Alpacas and Llamas. Ronaldo went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. I would strongly recommend looking him up if you’re planning a trip to Peru.
It was a wonderful experience that I can recommend to everyone. It was excellently organized by Reynaldo and Margot. We had a wonderful guide, Sandro, and a driver. I highly recommend this unique and beautiful experience.
I spent this delightful day with Reyando and his wife Margot on a walk through a beautiful eucalyptus forest, along with their llamas and alpacas. There was a magical quality about walking in the quiet with these delightful animals.
