Itinerary

Enjoy an unforgettable hike with llamas and alpacas. The panoramic views of the lagoon of Piuray and the ancient Inca Trail through the Andes mountains will give you an experience like no other. You will visit the locals in the community of Chinchero and see its famed archeological park and colonial temple.

We will pick you up in our private Alpaca trek adventures van, directly from your hotel at around 8 a.m. The van will be waiting for you at each stop when you are ready to continue. We will return you directly back to your hotel.

Our professional guides have studied English and tourism at Cusco National University. Additionally, they all grew up in this region and have a true passion to teach others about their heritage. They are fun yet professional and will ensure you are safe and happy.

This full-day walk with llamas and alpacas in Chinchero is a cultural excursion in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. As we hike through the mountains surrounding a local community we will learn about medicinal plants and see a beautiful lagoon of crystal-clear water.

We will cross through native forests with llamas and alpacas as was done in ancient times, learning the benefits of using South American camelids instead of horses as pack animals.

After walking through the mountains, we will enjoy a delicious picnic with products typical of the area which we will enjoy in the middle of the Andes with a privileged view of the archaeological site of Chinchero.

Finally, we will visit the Chinchero archaeological site and the main square with colonial and Inca building elements. Our trek concludes with a stroll through the village and a textile demonstration.
